Paul Wiscombe, Landlord
Paul has been in the hospitality industry for many years, literally born into pub life with his parents also being publicans in West Dorset and still running the Pilot Boat in Lyme Regis, where they have been since 1987. It seemed a natural progression for Paul to pursue a career in this industry and in December 2003 Paul took over the helm of The Anchor Inn.
One of Palmer’s youngest Landlords at the time, a fresh faced 23 year old, Paul has successfully run one of their flagship establishments for over 9 years, and maintains a very high standard in this thriving pub in one of the South Coast’s most beautiful locations.
Sam Hill, Head Chef
Sam has been the Head Chef at The Anchor Inn since 2010. A local lad, Sam started his chef’s training here in Dorset and then worked in a couple of local establishments. His passion for food and travel took him to Australia, spending a year working in Sydney, developing his cooking skills further and also allowing him to enhance his repertoire. His passion and love of seafood shines through in his food, with which he spoils our customers daily here at The Anchor. Sam has developed an excellent team around him in the kitchen and he produces dishes that would be at home in any fine dining restaurant.
…and, of course, The Anchor would not be able to function without the help of many other people including a brilliant team of bar staff, kitchen staff and cleaners.
